Opening reception: Thursday, October 25, 6 to 8 p.m. at the FOFA Gallery, Montreal.

Opening event: Performing Katja
A selection of Kessin’s interviews and performance pieces will be screened and discussed by the co-curators. Alexandra Daszkowski, Katja’s sister, will present, We hadn’t seen each other for two years, a collaborative work she made with Kessin.

The Katja MacLeod Kessin retrospective memorial exhibition opens today at the FOFA Gallery.

366 Days, a work in which Katja created one painting a day for an entire year, is on show for the first time.

paintings for sale

With a view to help fund a modest exhibition catalogue to commemorate Katja’s life and artwork, paintings from her 2001 Earth Odyssey series were sold. Works from this series are still for sale and the proceeds go towards establishing an undergraduate scholarship in Fine Arts in Katja’s name.

Price: $227.90 CAN (including taxes)
Dimensions: 10” x 12”
Medium: acrylic painting on stretched canvas

We will update the website regularly, indicating which paintings have been sold. Please note that a tax receipt will not be issued.

In October 2007, a retrospective memorial exhibition of Katja’s artwork will be presented at Concordia University’s FOFA Gallery.

Truly a labour of love, the exhibition is being organized by the curatorial team of David Elliott, Lynn Hughes, Loren Lerner and Sara Morley — Katja’s friends and peers.

An exhibition catalogue will be created to commemorate Katja’s life and artwork. The proceeds from the sale of the catalogue will go towards establishing an undergraduate scholarship in Fine Arts in Katja’s name.
